The Challenge

Given the tremendous growth of the desktop motherboard/system market worldwide, there is an increasing need to provide information on the level of desktop motherboard manufacturing in countries that support successful growth. Taiwanese motherboard manufacturers, that play a significant role in worldwide desktop motherboard production, have been brought to the forefront in this high growth and highly competitive market. Those interested in entering this market, either on their own or by looking for suitable alliances or joint-venture partnerships, must obtain a good understanding of Taiwan's motherboard manufacturing industry.

The Solution

With a view to assess the performance and the strategies being adopted by the various motherboard vendors, we designed and conducted a market research study targeting the top 5 (first tier) Taiwanese motherboard manufacturers, namely ASUSTeK, Giga-Byte, MSI, PC Chips, and USI.
